My Nook
The Project
Design and validation of a user-centric digital application concept
My Nook is a digital application concept designed for book collectors and readers, aimed at creating a visual bookshelf and book management system. The project was the central research and design work of my master's thesis, in which I examined the role of early user-centric research in the development of a new digital product.
My Tasks
-
UX research and user interviews
-
Design and analysis of online questionnaires
-
Market and competitor analysis
-
Development of personas
-
Design of user journeys and user flows
-
Creation of information architecture
-
Wireframe and UI design
-
Creation of interactive prototypes
-
Usability testing
-
Analysis and documentation of research results
-
Visual and functional design of the complete application concept
Implementation
I implemented the project entirely through a user-centered design process. The research started with an online questionnaire and the collection of user feedback, which was answered by 146 book readers and book collectors. Based on the results, I defined personas, user journeys, and functional priorities.
Following this, I created the information architecture and wireframes of the application, followed by the final UI design and an interactive prototype. At the center of the concept was a visual digital bookshelf, which makes managing a personal book collection simpler and more enjoyable.
